A Wedgwood Jasperware portrait plaque of Captain James Cook late 18th/19th century, modelled by John Flaxman in profile, facing right, on a pale blue ground, titled beneath, impressed mark, in a hardwood frame, the plaque 11.3cm. This portrait was modelled by Flaxman in 1784, probably after the Royal Society model by Lewis Pingo. See John Flaxman, ed. David Bindman, p.54, no.28 for more details.
