春暖，壬戌初夏于燕京之枫林馆，继卣墨。
刘继卣(1918-1983)，杰出的中国画家、新中国连环画奠基人，被誉为“当代画圣”。
他笔下的人物、动物、花鸟、山水形神兼备，尤其以他的工笔人物画和写意走兽画最为出彩，是近现代美术史上卓有成就的动物画、人物画一代宗师。
刘继卣自幼受其父刘奎龄的影响，酷爱绘画，师从陈少梅学习山水画和人物。
他长于工笔、白描和重彩，后多画写意，依据传统而不拘泥传统，融中西绘画于一体，自成一派。
1954年，毛泽东主席在天津接见了刘奎龄、刘继卣父子，当展阅刘继卣作品时，他称赞不已：“博古通今，刘氏出人才！”。
