此尊高台释迦牟尼像的最大特点在于工艺精湛的背光，背光通体透雕，上饰大鹏金翅鸟、八吉祥，雕饰精美细腻。正中为释迦牟尼佛，左右分别是观音和大势至，左手施禅定印，右手结触地印，金刚跏趺而坐。整像造型端庄，权衡合度，工艺精湛，鎏金灿然，规格之高，极为罕见。此尊造型端庄，内容丰富，制作精美纤细，须弥座上之四大力士皆可活动，造像工艺之精，令人叹为观止。
