In this painting on parchment, the Infant Jesus shows his tenderness towards a group of sheep that approaches him looking for caresses. Several symbolisms come together in this scene of oval format: the sacred heart beating in the body of Christ, the Good Shepherd as the conductor of the lost souls, and in the distance, the intervention of the archangel Michael to prevent a wolf (incarnation of the devil) from seizing a rabbit.
