Ca. 100-200 AD A matched pair of gold earrings, each with a shield centered by a large granule and framed by twisted wire, joined to the long earwire through a hook and clasp closure. Below each hoop is a cluster made of gold spheres. For similar earrings see Christie's, Live Auction 2770, lot 424, 5th December 2012. The item has undergone X-ray fluorescence analysis to confirm the metallurgical content suggesting its ancient origin and lack of modern trace elements.
