Ca. 100-200 AD A ceramic lamp depicting gladiatorial combat with the contender to the right fallen and the other assisting him to rise. The filling hole to the centre, and a wide spout adorned with pair of volutes. The base of the lamp bears a maker's mark - "CABINIA". Cf. Walters H. B. "Catalogue of the Greek and Roman Oil Lamps in British Museum", Plate XIX. Size: L:30mm / W:77mm ; 85g Provenance: Private UK collection; from an old British collection formed pre 2000.
