马蹄形玉箍是红山文化玉器中典型的器物之一，距今5500—5000年，因为它的形状象马的蹄子，因此而得名。此件作品玉质呈黄色，有多出沁斑，更显特别。上端梢撇为斜坡形，边缘磨成钝刃，器表外坚琢磨光润，内壁有弧线磨痕。制作此器是采用管钻法，相当费时费工。此件马蹄形箍玉沁自然，如同画作斑驳感强，玉质温润，属早年出土，传承至今，十分珍贵。
