A set of four modern silver wine labels, by A. E. Holder, Sheffield 1991, barrel form, engraved decoration, incised 'CLARET', 'PORT', 'BRANDY', and 'WHISKY', height 4.6cm, approx. weight 2.1oz. (4) Provenance: The Arthur Holder Collection. In 1971 Arthur Holder discovered that there was a silver-making class at Chesterfield College near Mansfield, Notts. He enrolled that week and remained a student until the age of 96 - the oldest student of the college and possibly in the country. He received several awards for his silver making and over the course of 40+ years produced 250 exquisite pieces.
