An early Victorian Irish regimental silver swing-handled basket, by Robert Smith, Dublin 1837, lobed circular form, embossed and chased with birds and foliate scroll decoration, on a matted background, the pierced swing-handle with caryatid mounts, engraved with the badge of the 24th Regiment, on a raised shaped circular foliate foot, repaired, diameter 35.5cm, approx. weight 49.8oz.
