The Yorkshire Club, a rare set of six of early-Victorian provincial silver Old English pattern table forks, by Barber and North, York 1838, also with town mark, the reverse of the terminals engraved with the Yorkshire Rose, length 20.8cm, approx. weight 1.oz. (6) The Yorkshire Club was established in 1839 at number 5 St Leonard's Place, and it merged with The Yorkshire Union Hunt Club in 1856. The silver flatware from the club was sold at Christie's on 8th October 1969. For further reading see Schrager, L.
