来源1. 伦敦佳士得，1992年6月8日，编号1412. 北美十面灵璧山居收藏此件仗首铜质，形为鸠鸟，回首，束翼伏卧，勾喙圆目，腹部饱满，长尾挺直，下接圆銎，可装仗杆。作品造型洗炼准确，线条柔和流畅，神态栩栩如生，整体风格简洁浑朴，是不可多得的佳品。鸠杖首是古代老者扶杖的顶端装饰，形为鸠鸟。这种杖称王杖，也叫鸠杖。杖顶端饰鸠鸟意为祝老人饮食顺畅，不受噎呃，保证健康长寿。此外，「鸠」与「九」为同音，古代两字通用。而九是个位最高的数，又称无数，象征极高、极多、极长、极大之意。
