此炉为经典的四足鼎式炉，造型稳重大气，纹饰对称规矩。炉方体，有直立双耳。炉身分为三部分，口沿饰有一圈回纹，炉身四面纹饰相同，口沿外壁饰一圈回纹，腹部以兽面纹为主要纹饰，并有八出戟。纹饰古朴，皮色沉静，气息高雅，此炉配有镂雕云头纹红木炉盖，此器手感沉重，包浆光泽柔润，造型古朴秀致，纹饰层次清晰，制作工艺精湛，纹饰富典型时代特征，具有皇家气象，制式及工艺堪称高级上乘。此炉样式在《宣德彝器图谱》中可见，仿自商周古鼎制式。
