该碗是景德镇所制的薄胎蛋壳瓷，釉面洁白，蛋壳薄胎迎光即透，保存至今品相完美，殊为不易，洁白的外壁绘雪景瓷画，画意一改古人所绘传统雪景晦暗阴郁，凄凉惨白，寒气袭人的冷酩之境，渗入民间喜气，表现瑞雪盈人的温柔之景，无奇险陡峭、哗众取宠之感，有平易近人之情。画面山石嶙峋，古木遒劲，雪景彩绘尤为精彩。银装皑皑，坡岸交错，远近各景，层次有序。景物势状雄峻，笔迹磊落，生动而有立体感。制作中注重工艺创新，其始以玻璃白敷染雪色，令画面苍洁纯澈、晶莹剔透，作者巧用粉彩玻璃白入绘雪景山水之中并掌控精熟深谙其中奥妙。此碗底书“景德镇制”篆书款，从制作风格上判断当为已故陶瓷美术大师，景德镇“雪景大王”余文襄所作，或为其亲力亲为监督指导而成。
