AN ‘EIGHT DAOIST IMMORTALS’ BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN OFFERING CUP OR TAZZA POSSIBLY VIETNAM, LATE NGUYEN DYNASTY, LATE 19TH CENTURY It rests on a tall dome-shaped foot and has a round body with a foliate rim. The outer part is adorned in underglaze cobalt blue with the Eight Daoist Immortals by pair above celestial clouds. The inner part is adorned with the Eight Daoist Immortals crossing the ocean. H: 6 cm - D: 13 cm Provenance: - a private collection; - Juan Carlos Katzenstein (1925-2018), an Argentinian Diplomat, who was an Ambassador in Beijing, China, from December 6, 1975 to January 2, 1978, and later to the Holy See (Vatican) and to the Sovereign Order of Malta from 1989 to 1991 (by repute).
