炉作方鼎样式，边角转折利落，周正规矩。平口方唇，口沿双立耳，长方腹，四棱出戟，颈部饰两两相对的夔龙纹，腹部主题纹饰为兽面纹，云雷纹地子极为精细。腹下承接四柱足，饰以夔龙纹及蝉翼纹。
传世的明清仿古类器物，多效摹商周鼎彝端庄雄浑之貌，而本品独具一格，在众多的同类器物中脱颖而出，其方正的器身，配合纤细浑圆的四足，圆中寓方，呈现出俊美窈窕之姿，加之纹饰以错金银工艺装饰，与黑漆的皮壳相互映衬，华贵典雅，集观赏实用为一体，尽显古卓的情调。
