(12.3 cm.) diam., boxDetails A CARVED WHITE JADE ‘SCHOLAR IN LANDSCAPE’ BRUSH POTQIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)The brush pot is carved in varying reliefs with a continuous scene depicting a scholar reclining against a pine tree, approached by an attendant walking across a bridge towered by jagged mountains and a pavilion on top. The white stone has a pale greenish tinge with some russet inclusions.4 7⁄8 in.
