DAOGUANG 1821-50The exterior painted with panels, each enclosing two boys playing games and enjoying daily life, divided by ruyi-heads, the interior decorated with a stylised flowerhead surrounded by scrolling tendrils, all encircled by a diaper-ground border with Fu characters at the rim, the base with a four character mark reading Fuhai cang zhen, 17cm wide.Provenance: from an English private collection, Lancashire, acquired on 17th March 1996.Fuhai is the largest lake located in the Old Summer Palace, Yuanmingyuan. The mark Fuhai cang zhen means, precious object from the collection of the lake Fuhai.
