19TH CENTURYModelled as a two-tiered hexagonal pagoda, the vertically mounted prayer sits behind pierced fence panels and six scrolling dragon columns which support the twin roofs and dragonhead buttresses with suspended bells, surmounted by a spindle, the base incised with a vishva vajra, 1.8kg, 39cm.Provenance: from an English private collection, London, acquired prior to 2000.Cf. The Victoria and Albert Museum, London, accession no.IM.119-1911, for a similar Tibetan Buddhist prayer wheel.
