A rare Japanese cloisonné jar and cover,Meiji period (1868-1912), of globular form on three stud feet, delicately enamelled with florets and leaves against a blue ground fading to pink, covered on top with a handkerchief decorated with chrysanthemum and scroll borders, the base similarly decorated, the ball knop with butterflies,38cm high (2)Feet with surface scratches and minor dents. Very minute enamel losses. Cover with surface scratches to inside and small knocks to edges.
