19th century, Europe. Carved from the solid, this architectural carving of a young boy with shoulder length curled hair depicted in a flowing knee length tunic with leggings. His left arm crossed in front of his body. Now mounted on a 20th century plinth SIZE: Overall height 56″. Height of statue 47″. Overall width 16″ x 16″ d. CONDITION: Statue with loss of right arm, losses to left shoulder and lower left portion of tunic. Loss of left hand, lower right section of tunic, left foot from ankle forward. Area of deterioration from dry rot now stabilized proper right rear section of tunic. Surface at one time cleaned, now somewhat polished from years of touching by hands of passersby. 52369-1 (1,500-2,500)
