拍品造型隽巧秀美，周正端雅，胎质细缜，釉面光润。外壁以粉彩绘饰春江图景，以苏东坡“竹外桃花三两枝，春江水暖鸭先知”诗意为主题，清江秀河，波澜不惊，桃花倚岸而生，绿叶娇嫩，茂盛繁密，桃花朵朵点缀其间，美艳动人，肥鸭六只，嬉游清江，欲游欲翔，随波荡漾，乐趣无穷，生动传神，一动一静，富有野趣。纹饰构图得当，颇具章法，绘工精湛，描摹细腻，景物生动，敷色清雅，诗情画意浓厚，文化底蕴极高，为道光御窑粉彩精雅之作，殊为罕见，赏玩皆宜。北京故宫博物院藏宋人绘《寒塘凫侣图页》，曾被编撰入《石渠宝笈续录》中，其题材、画意与拍品纹饰颇有相似之处，或为描绘模本，可资参阅。
