A early 19th century carnelian intaglio-mounted gold stick pin, the intaglio by Solomon Jacobson (1754 - 1830), depicting the profile of a woman on the guise of a Sibyl or a vestal Virgin, signed 'Jacobson' in Greek, intaglio 2.2cm high, the gold stick pin with Swedish marks and maker's mark CGH, 7cm high Salomon Jacobsen was the son of the gem engraver Aaron Jacobsen (d. 1770). He was engraver to the Danish Royal Court and member of the Academy in Copenhagen.
