识文：胡母氏从妹平安，故在永兴者，去此七十也。吾在官诸理极差，顷以复勿勿。来示云，与其婢问，来信不得也……飞白不能乃佳，意乃笃好，此书至难，或作复与卿。款识：临为渔璜三弟索书，昌颐。钤印：昌颐之章（朱白） 朵山（朱）
朱昌颐为道光六年（1826年）状元。作者简介：朱昌颐（1784～1855），字吉求，号朵山、芷甫，浙江海盐（今嘉兴市）人。朱方增从子。道光六年状元，授编撰。历官山西道御史，吏科给事中，云南乡试副主考，会试同考。著有《鹤天鲸海诗文稿》。
