Description

中原佛教造像中，男相佛像一般在观音形象上常出现，宋元时期观音造像多为男性面孔，而药师佛形象做成留有长髯的男性形象极为少见。此尊造像即为留有长髯的男相药师，佛其面相肃穆端庄，上额圆润饱满，长眉似弯月，双目微闭细长，鼻梁高挺，镂空雕刻的垂胸须髯线条流畅。佛左手于脐前施禅定印及托钵（已佚），右手持药丸，着通肩式菩萨装大衣，衣纹褶皱垂拂流转，层峦起伏，贴身丝绸质感刻画生动写实，形象稳重端正，栩栩如生，具有明显的明代中晚期造像特点。
