此件沉香罗汉以上品沉香雕刻而成，嗅之气韵甜糯，丝丝入喉。罗汉结游戏坐，手持念珠，五官舒朗，神情安然含笑，慈悲睿智。衣纹错落披拂，膝上有一隻正在玩耍的小狮子，雕工生动，沉静而有韵味。沉香自古以来为人珍视，晋嵇含《南方草木状•蜜香沉香》：“交趾有蜜香，树干似柜柳，其花白而繁，其叶如橘。欲取香，伐之，经年，其根干枝节，各有别色也。木心与节坚黑，沉水者为沉香。”古人不仅将沉香用于焚香，也用以制作各类珍贵器物。拍品附旧木盒，盒盖题签“虚斋藏沉香雕笑狮罗汉尊者像”。来源：英国藏家旧藏。
