铭文：太平真有象，垂拱万年长。治理优游日，恬神白玉堂。幽居无所事，虚寂见天心。自有田园味，何知玉与金。英华人所重，吾自守吾庐。池有清流水，精神合太虚。道通天地外，气得五行精。日月归方寸，乾坤在我心。莆田郭尚先书。。此砚体型硕大，以澄泥烧制而成。砚正面饰荷叶纹巧雕砚池，背面覆手内雕罗汉图，长眉罗汉庄严肃穆，大象吉瑞安祥，工艺精湛。郭尚先（公元1785—1832年），字符开，号兰石，福建莆田人。嘉庆十四年（1809年）进士，历任乡试考官、国史馆纂修、文渊阁校理、四川学政、左赞善、光禄寺卿。
