A FINE GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF A GREAT LAMA Tibet, 15th/ 16th ct. H. 13,6 cm Seated with legs crossed on a lotus-base with his right hand raised in the vitarkamudra while the left is resting on his lap holding a manuscript, wearing various monastic robes including mantle, its borders incised with scrolling tendrils, his face displaying a slight severe expression with almond-shaped eyes below arched eyebrows, urna and his head topped with the specific bonnet engraved to the front with the three-ratna emblem.
