AN EARLY FIVE-PRONGED IRON VAJRA Tibet, ca. 12th ct. L. 18 cm The octagonally framed central section is decorated on one side with leaf motifs (?). Above it, in the opposite direction, are bulges followed by cronan-like leaf motifs. Strongly stylised macara heads protrude from the square base and end in four notched clasps. The clasps touch the central axis at their ends, which is square in shape and has a thickening in the centre.
