止贡巴·仁钦贝为藏传佛教止贡噶举派创始人，因为创建止贡替寺，所以又称止贡巴。他师从帕木竹巴，得到帕木竹巴的真传，密法修证极高，在当时有很高的声望，每当公开传法时都会有十万以上的僧众前来学习。由于他法力高强，佛教事业兴旺，一般佛教界都尊称他为“吉天颂贡”，意思是“世间怙主”。 此主尊面容慈祥，躯体端正挺直，身着福田僧衣，主尊双手于胸前结法印，跏趺坐于莲座之上，莲瓣规整饱满，遍饰莲台一周。此像整体做工精细，造型生动写实，鎏金亮丽，华贵高洁之感顿生。
