Important Indian Diamond Pendant India Antique, made in the period 1750 - 1850 Gold, ca. 24 carat Diameter 5 cm, length with pearl 6 cm Weight: 36 gram gross Round pendant in yellow gold set with diamonds and rubies 22 old irregular mogul cut diamonds, 4 small ruby cabochons The central medallion a large ruby in cabochon form, in floral lithotomy, this bordered by rubies all around. Back in translucent enamel with floral motifs in red, green, blue, white, black & gold. The finial is a magnificent baroque pearl. On the front, this pendant impresses with its lavish set of diamonds in the traditional Mughal cut, set in the kundan technique typical of the time. The magnificent reverse shines in colorful translucent enamel work. India's traditional jewelry was tied into the country's religious imagination and had a magical worldview.
