In some cases, instead of the classical imagery with Dorothea, St. Ursula is also shown, or even just her attribute, the arrow, in the hand of St. Dorothea. This Christian representation of the four virgins is a form of the type Virgo inter virgines, which shows Mary in the circle of virgin martyrs.Margaret is the patron saint of peasants in pregnancy, women in childbirth and virgins.
