Deftly carved in openwork to depict a bearded scholar leaning against a pierced rocky outcrop with the right hand holding a lingzhi,the back craved two cranes,all below gnarled trees with lingzhi growing from the trunks,the entwined branches issuing leafy fruiting peaches and fan-shaped pine needles,the lustrously polished stone with some opaque inclusions.
