识文： 季高先生伯宫保节下，日前得延平贻函，以荣发在途，邮递恐有参差，尚稽作答。顷奉十一日续翰，……公之所见，实获我心，敢告其祥。湘中本月初十，内外大雪雨，各属据报普遍，日内又复雪雨，巡属粗靖，手复，敬颂岁禧，不庄。澣章顿首。腊廿七日。 左宗棠上款。 作者简介： 李瀚章（1821～1899），字筱泉，一作小泉，晚号钝叟，安徽合肥人。李鸿章兄。为曾国藩所赏识，初任湖南善化（今长沙）知县，及曾国藩建湘军时，瀚章奉命至南昌助其综理粮秣。官至两广总督。上款简介： 左宗棠（1812～1885），字季高，一字朴存，号湘上农人，湖南湘阴人。工书法，历官浙江巡抚、闽浙总督、陕甘总督等职。光绪七年返京任军机大臣，管理兵部。兼南洋通商大臣。
