此拍品为佛幡，幡为旌旗的总称，与幢同为供养道教、佛教神佛菩萨的庄严之具，用以象征道释诸尊之威德。此幡形制硕大，上以木板作为幡额，下设三条幡带，于蓝地上以金线织赶珠龙纹，中间幡带设正面立龙，两侧设侧面腾龙，神龙腾飞，双眼圆睁，形态威猛，穿梭云间，间饰海水江崖纹、云纹。整幡制作工艺精湛，华丽典雅，气势磅礴，令人叹为观止。 明清两代皇宫中设天穹宝殿，用于拈香祈雪、祈晴，据宫中陈设文件中记载，此处曾设“蓝缎织金龙幡”陈设，为宫廷宗教重要装饰。
