GILT SILVER INCENSE BURNER W.18cm H.24cm Description: This is a gilt silver incense burner with a flat mouth and inlaid with treasure. It is decorated with crowned ears and a corner prong on each of the four sides of the abdomen, bearing a four-columned foot and a four-sided knob on the top of the lid, modeled after the square tripod of the Shang dynasty.It has a vivid image and charm. The decoration of the furnace is also based on that of the bronze Ding vessel,with the rim of the mouth and the ears embellished with fretwork, and the four feet decorated with dragon pattern.The main body of the abdomen is surrounded by Taotie patterns composed of gilt dragon on the sky blue ground, but with slight changes in the partial form, skillfully integrating the popular image of longevity in the Qing Dynasty into the animal face pattern. The top of the lid is directly decorated with composite flowers , implying continuous and unending happiness and longevity. The upper part is engraved with interlocking lotus pattern to facilitate the fragrance in the abdominal part.The ornamentation of the whole incense burner is finely carved, the color is quiet and elegant, and the style of decoration is ancient and simple without losing the sense of the times.
