This poetic couplet employs the large seal script found on bronze objects dating from the Zhou dynasties (1100-256BCE), prior to the linguistic reforms made during the reign of the first emperor of the Qin dynasty. The lines and thickness of each brushstroke are even and uniform, with the text repeated on the margin of the right scroll.
