A 19th century seed pearl multi-strand choker, with multi-gem clasp and rose-cut diamond bar spacers. Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 0.35ct.Length 35cms. 25.6gms. With fitted case. Overall condition good to fair. General light to moderate marks, wear and discolouration in keeping with age. Evidence of some repair work to where the pearl strands join the clasp. Appears to be comprising components of similar age. Gems to the clasp include diamond, 'yellow' and 'brown' diamond, garnet, emerald and a garnet-topped doublet. 'Yellow' and 'brown' diamonds untested for natural colour origin. Diamonds estimated P1-P3 clarity. Garnet is a deep slightly purplish red hue, well saturated, with some typical inclusions. Garnet in good condition, with some minor abrasions. Emerald and garnet-topped doublet in good condition, with minor abrasions. Seed pearls are a slightly silvery creamy white to slightly yellowish white hue, with some rose and greenish overtones. Seed pearls generally appear in good condition, some with minor nacre damage.
