梅瓶小口、唇边，短颈、丰肩、窄底、底足外撇，器表施红釉，色彩绚丽，红艳鲜明，瓶口色泽浅淡，至肩部逐渐深红，渐变效果更显迷人红色，且具有一种强烈的玻璃光泽，釉汁厚，通体遍布冰裂纹，足底露胎，胎质坚致细腻。梅瓶以口小只能插梅枝而得名。因瓶体修长，宋时称为“经瓶”，作盛酒用器，造型挺秀、俏丽，明朝以后被称为梅瓶。
