白玉质，玉色莹润，局部带金色皮沁。圆雕一伏卧状麒麟，粗眉圆目，方口阔鼻，头生双角，脑后长鬃，身躯健硕，花尾上卷，四肢收于腹下，腿部饰鱼鳞纹。麒麟口中吐出宝书，周围仙气环绕。麒麟是中国传统瑞兽，传说孔子降生之时，有麒麟现世，口吐玉书，代表圣贤降世，后人便以麒麟吐书寓意添丁旺文。是作雕工细腻，细节丰富，唇边飞扬的长须，腿部的鱼鳞纹饰，皆刻画生动，是同类器物中的精品。
