蜜蜡为松脂或枫脂入地而成，以色纯无杂质为佳，属舶来之物，材料难得，使用多限于宫廷及高官商贾。且蜜蜡性脆，保存不易。拍品取整块蜜蜡雕成，呈枣红色，表面可见明显风化痕迹。造型为一口衔灵芝的卧兽，造型简括，气息拙朴。可把手盘玩，亦可作案上纸镇，为文房佳器。
