此作品铜质精纯色深，有金片点洒落其间。此为点金，亦称为“渗金”。《古玩指南》曰：“大片者为金片，成点形者为金点，大小相间为雨雪点。”此金片大小形态各异，分布疏朗自由，于皇家威仪中多一份隽逸之美。瑞兽四肢弯曲着地，挺胸昂首，双目圆睁，神态肃穆庄严。瑞兽躯干挺拔有力，尾部后伸并卷曲上翘，周身以错银技法装饰条状几何纹，风格古朴潇洒。
