A George III silver oval salver by William Bennett, London, 1802 Engraved to centre with large coat of arms with gryphon supporters and motto ‘Sperabo’, capped by a crest of a gryphon rampant atop a helm with closed visor, shield with inner escutcheon set upon a saltire, all within a border of interlocking lozenge motifs, reeded rim and bracket feet with ribbed borders, 30.4cm long, 23oz (713 gm).
