A French Louis XVI-style giltwood framed girandole, 19th century, of shaped rectangular outline, the ribbon and stick moulded frame with a scrolling surmount, with three foliate branches, 56cm wide 86cm high 27cm deep Condition report: Plate loose. Mottled plate. Knocks, splits, losses and repair to gilt and gesso. Sconces loose. Some overpainting. General wear. Dirt and dust. Gilt appears largely o.k. Crest and sconces appear to have seen a little bit of repair, and may have been touched up with gold paint, although a thick layer of dirt and dust makes it quite difficult to tell.
