An open face repeater pocket watch. 18ct yellow gold case, hallmarked Birmingham 1882. Case width 55mm. Key wind full plate movement with engraved balance cock and repeater complication, signed John Gaskin, No. 1849. Gilt dial with Roman numeral hour markers, subsidiary seconds dial to six. 160gms. Movement is not currently functioning. The balance appears to be at fault and one of the wheels is loose from the movement. The repeater function does appear to work correctly. Movement has scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with general wear visible to the naked eye. Dial appears to have noticeable marks and scratches. Hands show marks and tarnishing when viewed under a x4 loupe. Glass has noticeable scuffs and multiple scratches. Glass appears to be cracked. Case shows noticeable scratches, marks and dints. Hinges appear intact. This lot does not come with box or papers. Fellows do not guarantee the working order or accuracy of any lots sold. Due to opening of the case back we recommend this watch is re-sealed by an authorised technician to ensure any stated water resistance is retained.
