鼎式炉以上佳铜料铸造而成，打磨圆润光滑，扣之声音清亮悠远。双耳三足皆外撇，线条优美，平添美姿。此炉之皮色为褐栗色，通体清润脂腴，近抚柔美妙，远观烟霁蔚。此炉之铜，黄中带赤，当为含红铜之材，故其重超越，其声洪然也。佳器必精铜，精铜必好色，好色必好工，‘三好’必佳器”（摘自“荣斋养炉手札”），斯炉当之无愧也。“玉堂清玩”四字方篆体款，铸后修磨而成，功精韵佳，实为同类之罕见者。
