边款：“艺苑宝田，碧夺鸭头之绿。端溪妙品，莹含鹧眼之光。配珊瑚云笔，修获珍为美妆，翡翠之研匣一色相。” 此方砚台裁取绿端为材，料大而厚实，琢为双面砚，一面砚膛平而广阔可用作书写大字，另一面砚膛平广适合正常书写使用，次面砚额及两侧边刻堂皇富丽的“龙凤穿云纹”，雕工细腻，甚是精彩。两侧边刻铭文，笔画行如流水而用刀遒劲，内容与此方绿端一致，原刻铭文。带木胎黑漆盒。绿端，是端砚名坑之一。北宋时开采。色泽青绿，微带黄色。石质幼嫩，润滑。上等的绿端砚石，色泽、石质纯净，一片青绿，晶莹无瑕，别具一格，在端砚中是较名贵而难得的一种砚石。
