此水丞为清代宫中书案上专用以盛水的器皿，是清代宫廷文房用具的杰作。小巧玲珑，圆形扁腹，比例得当。水丞，又名水盂、水中丞，是用来盛水的文房用具；通常用小勺将清水舀入砚上，再来研磨习字。 形制玲珑俊秀，装饰典雅精美，极富美学特色。釉面仿宋代哥釉，但其釉质肥润，平整光亮，光泽度较强，有宋哥窑的酥润含蓄之美。明代屠隆撰《考槃余事》记载，宋代哥窑等有烧造水丞，盛极一时。此器既为清代乾隆朝的仿哥釉瓷器。整体制作精良，大小纹片相结合的金丝铁线唯美无比，极具美学观感。
