This historic event ended in August 1541, ending with the capture of the city of Buda, Hungary by the Ottoman Empire and leading to an occupation that would last 150 years. The siege, part of the Little War in Hungary, was one of the most important Ottoman victories over the Habsburg Empire during the Habsburg-Ottoman Wars that took place between the 16th and 18th centuries in Hungary and the Balkans. The Siege of Buda was a crucial Ottoman victory in their struggle against Ferdinand and the Habsburgs. The victory resulted in the occupation of Hungary by the Ottoman Empire.We are facing a work contextualized in the Spanish School of the 17th century, undoubtedly the golden century of the arts in Spain, as a result of a sweet cultural moment. In the field of painting, this century will give us some of the most important artists of all times, not only in Spain, but also in Western art. The Baroque painting of the Golden Age in Spain has a series of more or less common characteristics: religious themes predominate because it is the time of the Counter-Reformation; Spanish painters are influenced by Caravaggio's tenebrism in the treatment of light, although they later abandoned it; there is a deliberate absence of sensuality in painting and, in addition, the main client of the painters is the Church of the time.
