漢代玉器有比較多的紋飾，非常具有特色，例如玉璧出廓，穀璧、蒲璧的外邊有加添螭龍、螭虎、臥蟬、雷雲紋等裝飾，而且比較成功。玉璧除了出廓的特點外，還出現了吉祥語，這是玉璧雕刻技法上具有語言內涵的裝飾內容，首現於東漢。另有許多紋飾是繼承前代戰國時期，如卷雲紋、穀紋、蒲紋，都是戰國較流行的，或單獨出現，或幾種紋飾混合出現。近年來玉器製品逐漸在拍賣市場上走俏，並且佔有越來越多的市場份額。
