The thickly potted body rising to the petal-barbed rim and painted freely to the center plain with a phoenix amongst various fruits and flowers within a frieze of large peony blooms, the rim with swirling vines, the exterior walls with wide upright lappets, the unglazed base burnt orange in the firing. {Diameter: 16 1/2 inches (41.9 cm)}.
